About Air & Plumbing Today

Air & Plumbing Today started out as Air Today in 2012, offering air conditioning and heating service, repair and new system installation in Selma Texas which is in northeast San Antonio. Manny & Maira Mallen, both Texas natives, set out into the marketplace with their service staff trained on providing extraordinary customer service first, along with exceptional HVAC skills. Their business model was simple; Manny wanted to provide people with the same level of service he’d give his own mom.

Manny Mallen, the founder of Air & Plumbing Today, was born and raised in Eagle Pass and attended Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde TX. It was a long but worthwhile commute, earning his Associate’s Degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology.  After graduation, Manny worked for another air conditioning company in San Antonio. Although he was extremely successful there, the company’s philosophy focused on “add-on sales” first and customers second. After seeing this, Manny thought to himself, “would I want someone treating my mom like this?” At that exact moment,  Manny had a “cool idea” to take the leap and start his own company where customers come first.  Meanwhile, Maira attended Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio and studied long hours to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. On top of her studies, she doubled-down by providing Manny with essential support needed to start up their new business venture. Their team-like approach proved to be a formula for success!

With the company goal of providing a higher level of service, a faster response time and more competitive pricing, Air Today had a strong and successful launch, quickly outgrowing their first location, as well as needing more staff, more trucks, more supplies, it was a great challenge to have. It didn’t take long for families in San Antonio to catch on either. With 5-star online reviews pouring in on platforms like Google, Bing, etc., the phones rang off the hook with loyal customers referring their friends and family, fueling their growth even further!

In October of 2020, Manny & Maira launched a new plumbing segment of their company in the middle of a national pandemic, which took an incredible amount of courage. With expert plumbers armed with experience and a “customer first” philosophy, the plumbing division grew quickly, more than doubling their overall revenue in less than one year.

Currently, Air & Plumbing Today has a service staff of over 50 with a large fleet of trucks positioned throughout the San Antonio with their newest location opened in Lakeway / Austin TX in October of 2024. They are ready to respond quickly when called upon for the toughest repairs. Their goal is to put customers first with the most competitive prices, while providing the best service experience ever – the type of service Manny would give to his own mom, no matter how big their company becomes.

Manny & Maira Mallen also give a lot back to their local communities with donations and sponsorships to local law enforcement, schools, teachers, and to organizations who help local families in need. They also host an annual holiday toy giveaway for families in need to ensure children get a new toy for Christmas! Manny & Maira love making a difference.
